Scatter Joyfulness began quietly, with one small greeting, my husband in mind, and the hope that something made with care would carry more than just paper.
Now these small art greeting card “gifts” are traveling from mailbox to mailbox, home to home, and heart to heart.
This page is a cheerful, fun way to follow where Scatter Joyfulness has already landed and where it might wander next.
The 50-State Joyfulness Trail
The goal is simple: to see Scatter Joyfulness Greetings reach people in all 50 states.
One greeting. One recipient. One story. One unexpected smile at a time.
If you've received a Scatter Joyfulness greeting, sent one, displayed one, carried the bookmark, or shared the mission with someone else, you're already part of the trail. How fun.
A Washington Beginning
Scatter Joyfulness began growing through real-life connections in Washington well before this website launched.
Since 2024, hundreds of greetings have been purchased, gifted, mailed, or personally shared. In 2025 alone, 156 anonymous cards were mailed simply to make someone’s day, along with many more greetings shared for birthdays, Christmas, gifts, celebrations, and everyday moments.
I recorded many of those early greetings in my birthday and card reminder book, which has now become part of the early Scatter Joyfulness story.
The 50-State Joyfulness Trail is a newer project, so the list below tracks the states specifically documented as part of this growing journey.
