Snow Globe Morning

This morning brought an unexpected surprise.

Snow began falling outside the studio window — not blowing or swirling, but drifting straight down in a steady, quiet way. Flakes of all sizes floated gently to the ground, almost like someone had tipped a giant snow globe over the neighborhood.

The trees slowly gathered soft white layers and the grass became mostly covered, while the pavement stayed clear and safe.

Curious how Bunny would react, I carried her out to the back patio.

What surprised me most was the sound.

The spring birds were singing.

I had expected the quiet that often comes with snowfall, but instead there was cheerful chirping and little songs coming from the trees. It felt like winter and spring had quietly decided to share the same morning.

I went back inside, warmed up my coffee, and stepped outside again for a few minutes.

The air was crisp and fresh. I took a few deep winter breaths and sat still while the snow continued its gentle fall. After a few minutes the chill reminded me it was time to head back inside.

But for those moments, it felt like a small gift of the day.

Just a quiet reminder that unexpected moments can bring a little extra joy.
