Where the Day Begins

Quiet early morning scene with a blue floral mug topped with latte foam, a candle glowing nearby, an open book, and a small dachshund figurine, capturing a peaceful start to the day.

A Quiet Morning Rhythm

There’s a rhythm I’ve come to love—the kind that begins before the world feels fully awake. It’s 6:40am right now. I’ve been up since 4:30am.

In these early morning moments, it feels like a quiet gift waiting for me. The light is soft, the day hasn’t asked anything yet, and everything feels…possible.

I sit with my latte by my side, a candle flickering nearby, my Bible open, and Bunny tucked into my lap - a perfect fit. It’s simple, and steadies me in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve felt it too.

This quiet time has become how I begin my day.

I bring whatever is there that morning—sometimes clear, sometimes a little tangled. Thoughts I haven’t sorted out, things I’m carrying, things I’m hopeful about. I don’t wait until I’ve figured it all out. I just bring it as it is.

And that’s where things often shift.

There’s a quiet reassurance that meets me. Not loud or dramatic… just steady. A reminder that I don’t have to force answers or carry everything on my own. That wisdom is something I can ask for and trust will come ~ (James 1:5)

From there, the rest of the day begins to unfold.

Not perfect, not without its stretching moments—just different. More grounded. More open. Like I’m moving with the day instead of being pushed by it.

I’m starting to see how much these early minutes matter. How, for me, they shape everything that follows.

Not a long routine. Not anything complicated.

Just a small, intentional beginning.

And somehow, that beginning carries forward—into a kinder words, slower pauses, and moments I might have missed before.

I’m learning that, like a garden, this is how life grows.

If no one has told you yet today… you are held, you are seen, and there is goodness waiting for you in your very day.

Yours in scattering joyfulness,

Joy
